Newsletter #010

Hello, Everyone!

A great week with much progress and a few new things to share with you all.

The works for "7531" are going smooth, or so I want to believe. This has been... a lesson. Nevertheless, I understand that it is going as it should, and that the results are really speaking for themselves. I won't be sharing any pictures today, but soon. While I've been quite busy working on those illustrations, they're not the only thing I've been working on.

dreamcatcher workshop

Last week I presented the next workshop in the agenda. A Dreamcatcher workshop for October 5th at B&B El Mirador al Mar, in Sosua, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. This is going to be a great experience that will satisfy that creative craving y'all may have. While it will cover the basics of dreamcatcher manufacturing, it will also include a brief introduction into their history, their legacy. Certainly it will be a rich experience for all those who are able to join.

In the process of making it easy for all of you to join the workshop, I realized that some adjustments where needed. After a lot of messing around, I was finally satisfied with the look, feel and functionality of this new addition. So, allow me to formally introduce LWA Solutions, where all your creative needs will be met.

This new section is dedicated to all the services I provide. Workshops, classes, commissions and more. I'd like to believe that each tab is quite self explanatory, with the exception of maybe Services. Within this tab you will find how to book a meeting with me so we can discuss your wishes. These include macramé commissions, illustrations for production like story boards, portraits, murals and much more! Like always, LWA bringing Solutions to your Creative Needs.

The release of this new section of theMadness also means that all Classes are now in session. You can now book my time to learn any and all of the many crazy things I do. Enter a new era in your creative life and become an Alumni of theMadness. A plethora of artistic endeavors and paths at the tip of your finger. Choose your battle and I'll help you build an Empire.

The schedule is quite open in terms of time availability. Most of the classes can fit groups of up to four participants, so consider bringing some of your friends along with you on this path of creation.

And now...

Josama

Dominican artist in the United States.

josama

A personal favorite, Josama is master of many crafts. A painter and rapper with a complex approach towards the exploration of everyday life.

His work uses icons from pop culture and places them in the most interesting situations, leading to all sorts of balanced chaos. These situations mirror the life and interactions between "incompatible" characters, and how volatile is the human experience, all through paintings with Mighty Mouse, Alf, Garfield, Alfalfa and the Hamburgler. It sounds insane, but what's really insane is how broad the message can be.

There is an exploration visible in his most recent works. They show a more intentional reach into his roots and the roots of human existence. The pieces he's created somewhat depict the path between the earthly live and the worlds beyond our consciousness chains. The question isn't canon but, Where do they lead? The warping reality, the vortex holes, the chosen characters and their relation, the work is truly enchanting.

In his work you can get lost either considering what in the heck does any of it mean while swimming in the sea of options, or just looking at the intricate details of each of his paintings, regardless of size. Layer upon layer purposefully laid with every brush stroke, all towards an impossible image. Totally the kind Madman we love here!

You can also show him some love on Instagram @josama_zeptepizemi.

That is all for this newsletter, share it with your friends and family.
