Newsletter #006

Hi, Everyone!

This week was a blast. The newest edition of "La Leyenda del Recordatorio de los Dioses" is now out and ready for purchase. Conversations about new things to come are happening and I just don't stop getting myself involved into more and more madness. Let me explain...

patterns

So, I had a conversation with a couple of young ladies about an upcoming project. And for that project, they'd like for me to make some clothes. After some consideration, some things were agreed upon and well, some new patterns had to be made.

I took that opportunity to help a fellow Mad One to learn how to make patterns using my empiric methods. Clothes making isn't new to me but I don't have proper training when it comes to fashion design and/or confection. But what I do have is a constant yearning for new adventures and challenges. In the past I used to make many pieces of clothing for all you, my dearest Madness Lovers. Now a days I only make clothes for myself, and in very special occasions, such as this. I must admit I enjoyed making them, but I don't miss having to.

The styles I enjoy designing and creating aren't exactly the most fashionable or even related to the latest trends. I just happen to enjoy breathing. Hence why I make clothes that will not choke me, literally and metaphorically. While these designs may not be very popular here, I find myself very much represented in them, and I wear them proudly.

These new patterns will be used for some tests, and from there, many cool things will come. We'll see how that evolves.

In any case, this is a project that is still developing so, no more can be shared at the moment. I'm not saying that I'll be making a new collection but, who knows what may really happen?

And now...

Dwarmis Concepción

Dominican artist, living in New York

About a week ago, Dwarmis released her new collection called "Cimientos". When I saw it, pride rained upon me and couldn't wait to be witness to where she's headed.

She has successfully created a space for her brand in the big apple's fashion scene, which is no small feat. With experience piling up,

show after show, season after season, collections galore, she has really claimed and taken a sit on that table.

Her work is truly gorgeous. With an eye for classic styles, combined with her magic touches. Specially her dresses tend to be the sensation where ever they show up.

This new collection has a vintage look while remaining contemporary. You can really tell the level of work and expertise that has been put into these designs.

The lines contrasting with the fabric, the shapes contrasting with form, the beauty of gravity! The audacity to come up with such beautiful pieces and not making any for men kind of hurts me. But beyond my little petty selfish inner child, these are masterpieces totally worthy of being in the most prestigious closets, to be worn to the galas and ceremonies of the world.

You can find them on Instagram as @dwarmis.

That is all for today's newsletter. Have a wonderful week, remember to join theFamily if you haven't yet and, embrace #theMadness in you!

Irie bless!
