The People's Artist Contest
Hello my beautiful Madness Lovers. As you know, I was travelling and upon my return things got a bit hectic. Finally I have time to bring you a newsletter full of the great stuff that's happening. First off, I am participating on a contest held by the one and only Johnny Depp for a spot at being "the People's Artist", which came as a pleasant surprise. The contest is still on its first stage and I am happy to share that thanks to your uncanny support we are standing strong at the top, but there is still about a week before this stage ends so, I really appreciate your continued support by voting on this link. Spring in California
As I mentioned, I was away on a trip to Northern California, hiking and enjoying a well deserved RnR. But I also had the chance to participate of the Arcata's Farmer's Market for 2 months, showcasing my jewelry, including the newest collection "Soul Healers" (more below), and I gotta say it was a great experience to be back out there with friends and colleagues, showcasing art and sharing joy with the people of Humboldt County. Upon my return to Japan I found myself inspired and wrote an small poem called "Empty Home" for which I made the video I share with you today. It is quite personal and deep and I really hope you like it.
Exhibit in Tokyo
As part of the work I've been doing in Japan, I have secured a spot at a group exhibit in the great city of Tokyo, in none other than the Metropolitan Art Museum. This is a great opportunity for me and surely it will open doors to more great things. I will be showcasing four illustrations from different stages of my work in order to really display a broad perspective of my evolution. The exhibit is from June 16th to the 21st and is open to the general public. I will be in-situ so if you pop about, come through!
Soul Healers - The Newest Collection
The latest jewelry collection is called "Soul Healers" and it is a treat! I am so proud and happy of how this collection turned out and it is already available at the store for your choosing pleasure. It has a total of 13 pieces (only 10 available at the moment of writing this) and plays with complex styles and designs. Among the stones you can find in the collection we have Labradorites, Jaspelites, Crinoid Fossils, Heundalites among many more beautiful and powerful gems. Surely you'll fall in love with them like I did.
Therapeutic Rhymes from a Voluntary Exile
While all of this is happening, I keep writing and creating stories. Right now I'm actively working on my next literary project called "Therapeutic Rhymes from a Voluntary Exile". A poetry book filled with sketch illustrations. I have started releasing some of these poems with voiceover in cool short videos like the one above on @LoganMWolf. The format for this book will be a fresh new take for me and no doubt you'll find it interesting once it's complete. I expect to release it sometime late this summer or early fall. Stay tuned for more on this matter.
